Driver Training for the new Windhoek bus fleet has started

On Thursday 7 January 2016 the 10 days driver training for about 45 bus drivers has begun. The drivers will be trained to operate the brand new buses for the improved public transport system in Windhoek. Instructed by a MAN trainer, all drivers were introduced to the new features of the modern buses. Having passed a driver inspection, all drivers successfully accomplished their driver license for the new buses.

In November last year, the official launching of MoveWindhoek, the brand for the implementation of the Sustainable Urban Transport Master Plan (SUTMP) and the handover of the first bus was a great success. As a first step of the implementation 20 buses for the new fleet have already arrived last year, additional six are coming end of January.
